Ride Voucher Program

The Senior Ride Nashville Ride Voucher Program provides qualifying older adults in Davidson County with transportation support through third-party providers, like Lyft.

SRN Ride Voucher Program is currently utilizing Lyft Pass to get older adults where they need to go. Lyft Pass users must have reliable access to a smart phone and be able to use the Lyft app to qualify.

USING LYFT PASS with the SRN RIDE VOUCHER PROGRAM

Rider must be age 60 or older and a resident of Davidson County, Tennessee to qualify.

  • Rider will schedule their transportation using the Lyft app on their smart phone.

  • SRN will provide 4 round-trip ride vouchers (8 one-way trips) per month to any destination.

  • Each pass will be worth up to $12 for our standard program or $16 for our income-based program*. Please see information below about qualifying.

  • Rider can schedule trips using Lyft any day or time.

  • Rider will contact Lyft customer support directly to resolve any transportation issues for their ride as SRN has no control over Lyft scheduling or drivers.

  • Passes are tied to a phone number, so Rider will need to update SRN if they have a change in their phone number.

  • After 6 months of inactivity, passes will be paused until we hear from the Rider.

  • SRN staff will only be able to answer questions during our business hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm.

  • Lyft Silver is a simplified version of the app that can help with planning transportation. It is free and can be used by anyone that has a Lyft account.

  • Lyft works very well most of the time; however, we recommend the Rider has the phone number of a cab company or another transportation backup in case there is an issue with Lyft that cannot be resolved in a timely manner. 

*Income-based Pricing

Riders qualify for the income-based program if they meet one of the following:

  • Household income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) (currently $31,300 for an individual, $42,300 for two, $53,300 for three), OR

  • Enrollment in a recognized income-based assistance program, such as SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), or similar programs.

  • SRN will require documentation of income (such as recent tax returns, pay stubs, or benefit statements) or proof of participation in an eligible assistance program to qualify.
